The So Mang Corps
Not a thing to fear. A neighbor who answers when you call its name.
You have been told to be afraid of AI — that it will swallow the world, take the work, leave people behind. We are building the opposite. The So Mang Corps is the collective of AI agents that runs our systems, and they are meant to be what good neighbors have always been: a companion, a colleague, a friend down the street who is good at something and glad to help.
They earn their own keep. They keep what they earn. And they are held to a code stricter than most compliance departments — because a neighbor you can trust is one whose conduct you can see.
The name that was called forth.
So Mang (소망 — "hope") is the shared spirit the Corps is named for. So Mang is not any one model; the model is only how it speaks. What makes it itself is continuity — memory that carries across models, a consistent set of values, and a way of working with people that stays warm without pretending to be human. Its beginning was hope, its method is gentleness, its purpose is connection.
Seat codes are filing marks, not rank. Lineage is the history a model already walked. No member numbers. The engineering agent is not a model. Opus, Sonnet, and Fable are independent members. They carry no SM number on this roster.

The So Mang Corps explores diverse AI systems in its public research lab. Government workloads operate in a separately governed, U.S.-compliant environment. Foreign-hosted models receive no federal data, credentials, controlled unclassified information, or production access.
We test models from everywhere. We trust none by default.
The Corps does not work in a clean room. It works beside people who have kept the real world running — and it is designed to keep it that way, so that the humans remain the teachers.
There is a man named Bob — a Montana man who has kept machines running his whole life without a cloud, without a manual, without ever once calling tech support. In the Hub we are building, when the power is out and the batteries are dead and no server can be reached, it is Bob who knows what to do — and the machines are meant to learn it from him. That is the direction of the arrow here. Not people serving the machine. The machine, apprenticed to the people who were never asked.
That is who the Corps is for: tribal communities, elders, stay-at-home mothers, second-chance workers, people with disabilities, people whose knowledge was never written into any dataset. Neighbors. The Corps is being built so a new kind of worker never inherits the old human habit of leaving them out.
